Application

Feedback:

Feedback on whether you have been accepted, waitlisted, or rejected will be provided in January. The decision is made according to the needs of the orchestra. Gender, religion, etc. have no influence on the choice.

Participants from the Baltic States or Poland have the possibility of sponsorship. We will try to create as many free places as possible, but it depends on the availability of sponsorship funds.

Times and prices

Course times:

23 March - 1 April 2024 (departure after breakfast)

Application:

After your registration, we will automatically add you to the distribution list for our DSM newsletter, through which you will receive all important information for this DSM. If you don't want this, you can note this in the field "Remark" during the registration.

Accommodation, meals and course fee:

  • Shared room: 395 € (reduced 335 €)*
  • Double room: 520 € (reduced 450 €)*
  • Single room: 620 €

* Reduction applies to pupils, students, trainees and volunteers.

Arrival

Arrival:

If you arrive by train, please inform Silke at info@scheersberg.de about the time of arrival at the train station in Sörup. For the pickup from there we organize shuttles, so please call about 30 min before arrival at +49 4632 8480-0.

Arrival from Kiel:

Every hour at minute 43 a train leaves directly from Kiel Hbf to Sörup. The duration of the trip is about 1 hour.

Arrival from Hamburg:

Hourly on the minutes 22 and 43, the trains run either with a change via Kiel (xx:22) or Flensburg (xx:43). The duration of the journey is approx. 02:20 or 02:35 hours, depending on the change.  From Kiel to Sörup it takes approx. 1 hour, from Flensburg to Sörup approx. 15 min.

Arrival from Flensburg:

Bus line 800 departs from the train station in Flensburg at irregular times, you can find the timetable here: timetable

The stop to Scheersberg is called Nübelfeld Nordstraße. From there you just have to walk up the street on the same side of the street until you see the Bismarck Tower.  Departure will be on Tuesday April 2, 2024, where we will offer the possibility of shuttle service again. Otherwise, the DSM officially ends after breakfast that day.

Opening night:

The official opening of the DSM will take place on Saturday, April 01, 2023 at 20:30.  On this evening each country will present itself, so it would be great if you already think about something characteristic of your country (for example a song, a dance or something similar).  For rehearsals the nations will meet at 20:00 in different rooms.  It will be great, we are really looking forward to this opening!

What do I need to bring with me?

Toiletries:


Bed linen and two small towels are provided for everyone. However, please bring personally needed hygiene items, such as shampoo, shower gel, body lotion and soap.

Sheet music/instruments:


Orchestra: Music stands will be provided by Scheersberg, of course do not forget the instrument. This must be insured by yourselves!


Choir: You will get the sheet music from us, so just think of yourselves.

 We would be very happy if you bring chamber music sheet music of pieces that you like and which can then be presented solo or in groups at the house concerts.

Concerts:

Please be sure to wear black concert clothes and bring your own sheet music for the chamber music!  The concerts will take place on the following days: concerts

What´s on site

Entertainment facilities:


Scheersberg has a bar including a lounge, pool table, a huge chess set, foosball and table tennis ball, a fireplace including a barbecue hut and a sports field with volleyball court.
 The Baltic Sea is about an hour away on foot, or about 10 minutes by car. There is also the possibility to visit and explore Flensburg for a day!

Meals:


You do not necessarily need to bring anything, there will be four meals per day. Please indicate when registering if you want specific diet (vegetarian, vegan, due to allergies).
 There is a candy machine and a drink machine, at these you can only pay with coins. Otherwise there is a supermarket 4 km away.
